- Aesthetic /es-THET-ik/ A specific visual style or mood, used to describe a coordinated look, feed or vibe.
- Alpha /AL-fuh/ Short for Generation Alpha, children born roughly between 2010 and 2025, growing up fully immersed in tablets, streaming and AI.
- Ate /ayt/ Did something exceptionally well, succeeded completely.
- Aura /OR-uh/ The energy or vibe a person gives off, which can be gained or lost depending on how "smooth" or "cringe" their actions are.
- Aura Farming /OR-uh FAR-ming/ Deliberately acting or posing in a way designed to look effortlessly cool, usually for the camera.

- Based /BAYSD/ Said of someone who speaks their true opinion confidently, without worrying what others think.
- Bedtime bargaining n. /ˈbedtaɪm ˈbɑːɡɪnɪŋ/ The nightly negotiation over one more episode, and the currency it is paid in: chores, mornings, promises.
- Beef /beef/ An ongoing conflict or disagreement between two people.
- Bestie /BES-tee/ Short for best friend, used affectionately or jokingly, including for people who aren't technically your closest friend.
- Big-kid clause big-kid clause · /bɪɡ kɪd klɔːz/ · noun · heard in UK, ES, MX The unwritten rule that lets a younger child watch what the older one watches, on the older one’s terms.
- Boomer /BOO-mer/ Used, often teasingly, to describe someone (of any age) acting out of touch with current trends or technology.
- Bop /bop/ A song that is catchy and genuinely good.
- Bro /broh/ A casual way to address a friend, regardless of gender.

- Cap / No Cap /kap/ /noh kap/ "Cap" means a lie; "No Cap" means you're being completely honest.
- Chill /chil/ Relaxed, easygoing, or a request to calm down.
- Chronically Online /KRON-ik-lee ON-lyn/ Describes someone so immersed in internet culture that their references, humor or opinions only make sense to other heavy internet users.
- Clean Girl /kleen gurl/ A minimal, polished beauty and lifestyle aesthetic built around the idea of effortless, natural grooming.
- Cringe /krinj/ Something that causes secondhand embarrassment.
- Crush /krush/ A person someone is romantically interested in.

- Dad Joke /dad johk/ A pun or groan-worthy joke delivered by a parent with complete confidence, regardless of the audience's reaction.
- Delulu /dih-LOO-loo/ Short for "delusional", used playfully to describe holding onto an unrealistic hope or belief.
- Demure /dih-MYOOR/ Describes behaving modestly, calmly and composed, often used ironically to praise restrained or "proper" behavior.
- Drip /drip/ A stylish, eye-catching outfit or overall look.
- Dub /duhb/ A win, in games or in life.

- FOMO /FOH-moh/ "Fear Of Missing Out", the anxious feeling of being left out of something others are experiencing.
- FYP /ef-wy-pee/ "For You Page", TikTok's personalized feed of recommended videos.

- Gaslighting /GAS-lyt-ing/ Manipulating someone into doubting their own memory, judgment or perception of reality.
- Ghosting /GOH-sting/ Suddenly cutting off all communication with someone, with no explanation.
- Girl Math /gurl math/ Humorous, creative logic used to justify a purchase or expense as somehow free or a bargain.
- Glow Up /gloh-uhp/ A noticeable, positive transformation in appearance or confidence.
- GOAT /goht/ "Greatest Of All Time", used to describe the best person or thing in a category.
- Green Flag /green flag/ A sign that someone is a genuinely good, healthy influence in a relationship or friendship.

- Hangry /HANG-gree/ Irritable because of hunger.
- Hater /HAY-ter/ Someone who criticizes or puts down others, often out of jealousy.
- Helicopter Parenting /HEL-ih-kop-ter PAIR-ent-ing/ A highly involved parenting style focused on closely monitoring and protecting a child's every move.
- Hits Different /hits DIF-er-ent/ Describes something that feels unusually good or meaningful in a specific moment or context.
- Hype /hyp/ Excitement or anticipation around something.

- Icon /EYE-kon/ A person or thing considered iconic, admired or legendary within a particular context.
- Idk /eye-dee-kay/ "I don't know", used as a quick, informal response.
- Influencer /IN-floo-en-ser/ Someone with a large, engaged social media following who can shape opinions, trends or purchases.
- Inspo /IN-spoh/ Short for "inspiration", especially for style, decor or creative projects.
- It's Giving /its GIV-ing/ Used to describe the specific vibe or impression something gives off.

- Mid /mid/ Mediocre, unimpressive.
- Mom Guilt /mom gilt/ The nagging feeling a mother gets over decisions, big or small, that may not feel like "enough" for her kids.
- Mood /mood/ Used to express strong agreement or relatability with a feeling, image or situation.

- Nepo Baby /NEE-poh bay-bee/ The child of a famous or well-connected parent, whose opportunities are seen as benefiting from that family connection.
- Noob /noob/ Someone new or inexperienced at something, especially a game.
- NPC /en-pee-see/ "Non-Playable Character", used to describe someone who seems to act automatically or without original thought.

- Ok Boomer /oh-kay BOO-mer/ A dismissive response to a comment seen as outdated or out of touch, regardless of the speaker's actual age.
- On Fleek /on fleek/ Looking perfectly done or polished.
- OP /oh-pee/ Short for "overpowered", describing someone or something far stronger or more skilled than everything else around it.
- Outfit /OWT-fit/ The full combination of clothes someone is wearing, often discussed as a deliberate style choice.
- Overshare /OH-ver-shair/ To reveal more personal or private information than the situation calls for.

- Threenager /THREE-nay-jer/ A three-year-old whose mood swings, opinions and attitude rival those of a teenager.
- Tiger Parenting /TY-ger PAIR-ent-ing/ A strict, high-expectation parenting style focused on discipline and academic or extracurricular achievement.
- Touch Grass /tuch gras/ A suggestion that someone needs to step away from screens and spend time outdoors or offline.
- Trust Fall /trust fawl/ A moment where someone proves, or tests, how much another person really has their back.

- Vibing /VY-bing/ Relaxing and enjoying the moment, often while listening to music.
- Villain Era /VIL-un EER-uh/ A playful phrase for a phase where someone starts prioritizing themselves, sometimes at the expense of being "nice."
